I was so grateful to GP for their internet service. Their strong network and edge backbone was like a blessing for demanding Internet users like us. But for last few weeks the Internet service was very very poor. It is understandable that problems may arise, but the way GP currently handling the problem really doesn’t match with the professional attitude that GP showed earlier. I couldn’t reach the customer care executive calling 121 for more than 20 times. I came to know that the customer care executives/manager replied to some other users that the problem is from BTTB’s side. But I know GP is not honest in this case. This type of problem can’t continue for such a long time.
By the way, let me tell you what the problem was- Very poor bandwidth specially very poor browsing performance. In last few days the situation even got worse.
I believe there’s been something like demand-supply gap because of recent increase in the GP internet users. The number of GP internet users increasing everyday- I don’t think GP has enough bandwidth to meet the ever growing demand.
I know GP is going through cost cutting stages, but if cutting cost can cause degradation in the service level GP will definitely be in trouble. Because Internet users as well as mobile users got so many alternatives/options now a days, they’ll not stick to GP.
yes i am agree with u.
i am thinking to buy a warid or banglalink sim .
what u people think about dumping gp edgecause we have lots of other option that i hadn’t last year or so
hey found this :
Currently, SEA-ME-WE 3 is the only remaining cable connecting Europe to the Middle East via Egypt. Data transmission capacity between India and Europe has been reduced by 75 percent, causing much of the traffic between these sites to be rerouted through the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

well, gp is doing bad, but they dont have any incentive to do good either. and its not their fault. we live in a country where telecom policies revolve around tax, revenue and license. they are not focused toward toward setting standards and improving service. but i guess its not their fault too, the people and culture here seems to be doing “good” and are quite “happy”.
maybe a gp manager (i’m not), it might be a good decision to blend in !
