I think this blog is not a personal database type blog. So, Is it necessary to add the comment moderation?? This may reduce ur comment response. If u r the admin then u can delete any offensive comment any time.

regarding the moderation of comment: I have to moderate hundreds of spam comments everyday containing links which will deteriorate the environment of this blog. Since google and other search engines crawl this site after a few hours interval, those links and comments will also be crawled even before I delete them. The spammers do so to do link building and increase their page rank. Moreover some of the links can lead people to sites containing trojans and malwares. This is why I prefer spending a few minutes to moderate (approve or delete) the comments.
